Kale & Berry Smoothie
This kale & berry smoothie is high protein which is perfect for stabilizing your blood sugars and your appetite. I am not a huge fan of smoothies, but this one is really delicious. My favorite thing about this smoothie is that it has probiotics in the Greek yogurt, and it is filled with prebiotic ingredients. These symbiotic ingredients are a recipe for good gut health!
Importance of Kale & Berries
Kale and Berries are our prebiotic ingredients. Whether you take a daily probiotic or if you rely on fermented foods like Greek yogurt or Kombucha to deliver probiotics to your digestive system, it’s imperative that you feed those bacteria so that they survive and multiply. Kale is especially high in prebiotic fibers. Berries also feed probiotics! Berries and good gut health alike make you taste better, if that’s not a good reason to start your day off with this smoothie, I don’t know what is.
The benefits of protein in my Kale & Berry Smoothie
Protein plays a critical role in the synthesis of enzymes and hormones. Proteins are made up of amino acids, which are the building blocks of enzymes. These enzymes facilitate countless biochemical reactions in the body, including those involved in metabolism, digestion, and cellular repair. If you are focusing on weight loss, protein can also serve as an appetite suppressant. If you are trying to tone your body and gain muscle, you won’t get the results you deserve if you don’t have enough daily protein intake.
Smoothies are a great breakfast.
Firstly, their blended consistency makes them easier to digest compared to whole foods, as the blending process breaks down fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients into more easily absorbable forms. This makes for a smart and gentle way to break your nightly fast. Smoothies are also convenient, both in terms of preparation and consumption. There is nothing this mama loves more than an easy meal!

- 3/4 cup High Protein Yogurt
- 1 scoop Protein Powder I used Blueberry Muffin protein powder from Ryse.
Instructions
- Gather and measure your ingredients
